The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is moving forward with a long-awaited infrastructure project: an interchange that will directly link the Yamuna Expressway with the Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE). This much-anticipated connection aims to improve traffic flow and enhance connectivity between major highways in the region.
The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has officially approved the project, clearing the way for NHAI to take charge of the construction. The project is estimated to cost around Rs 270 crore and is expected to be completed within one year.
According to reports from TOI, YEIDA CEO Arun Vir Singh shared key insights on the project, stating: The UP government has approved the construction of the interchange connecting the Yamuna Expressway with EPE. NHAI will now carry out the construction, bear the entire cost, and collect the toll thereafter.
1.Design and Construction: The interchange will be built according to NHAI’s own design and specifications.
2.Survey Completion: A ground survey has already been completed near Jaganpur-Afzalpur village, located approximately 10 km from the zero point of the Yamuna Expressway.
This new interchange is expected to significantly reduce travel time and streamline access between the two major highways, benefiting commuters and commercial traffic alike.
